  • Hello! My name is Christa Hayes and I am the dyslexia therapist here at Lamar Elementary. I have been an educator for 11 wonderful years! I love my job, my students and the wonderful staff at Lamar! I honestly could not be happier to be blessed each day with the opportunity to do something that truly brings me joy! I have been married to my amazing husband for over 11 years and we have two beautiful children. When I am not at Lamar serving our wonderful students, you can usually find me supporting my kiddos on the soccer field. Go Sporting United!! They play for a club team, so we stay VERY busy with that, but I LOVE watching them do what they love! In my rare moments of free time, I will most likely have my nose stuck in a book! I most recently read Lifeblood by Gena Showalter- it is the second book of a series and a really fun read!
  • I am originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I enjoy all types of physical activities, as well as reading, chess and strategy games. I am a proud father of one. I also enjoy giving time to charitable events and helping others. I have plenty to offer to those whom are willing to accept and be appreciative.
  • I'm excited to serve as your diagnostician this school year! This is my 10th year in education. I am married and have 7 year-old twin boys. We enjoy reading, watching movies, and outdoor activities as a family.
  • I'm proud to be the Cello Instructor for the district with my home campus at Lamar with all our Rockstars! I've played cello since I was 4 years old and have wanted to teach it from the time I was a student at my elementary school's suzuki in the school's program back in St. Louis, MO. I love performing, so if you ever need beautiful cello playing for anything, let me know!
  • I'm so excited about the new school year. I love to watch my students learn and use good speech and language skills. I'm looking forward to another great year of watching my students reach and exceed their speech goals.
  • My journey to the teaching field was an interesting one! After completing my business degree and working in that field for a couple of years, I chose to stay home with my children. When they were nearly school age, I was able to play a small part in teaching them to read, and I was hooked on teaching! ??I began teaching full time in 2001 and have taught all subjects in three different grade levels. Currently I am the instructional coach for our campus and love to come alongside our teachers as they bring the best instruction to Lamar students!
  • My name is Kelly Walker and I am the Gifted and Talented teacher for grades K – 5th. I am very passionate about my job at Lamar Elementary and feel extremely privileged to be a part of such a wonderful school and fabulous GT program. I am committed to providing students with opportunities to develop their gifts and talents. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique and learns in a different way. I will help your child discover his/her individual gifts and talents and work alongside them so they can reach their full potential. I want my GT students to feel challenged and have an enhanced passion for learning.
