Located at 6005 Stonewall, Bowie Elementary enrolls close to 500 students and owes a large measure of its success to its clear-cut message that "parents play a significant role in their children's education."

Bowie is rated a "Recognized" campus by the State of Texas.  The professional staff at Bowie is outstanding, and children are taught early to aim for excellence. By focusing on individual needs and understanding the child as an equal partner in the learning process, Bowie creates an environment that allows each child the opportunity to meet his or her own unique expectations.

In addition to the core academic program of instruction, Bowie houses several enrichment programs for students across the district. A Suzuki Strings program offers individual and group instruction to participating students in violin and cello.

Bowie also provides three classrooms for the Gifted And Talented program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.  GT students are transported via bus from other campuses one day per week to take part in program activities.  Reading intervention, Special Education (including a Life Skills class) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are also offered at Bowie.

The school performs well on the annual Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills tests and also participates in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic meet and Destination ImagiNation competition.
