Whereas the focus of Greenville Sixth Grade Center is to help students make the transfer from elementary school to secondary education, the challenge of Greenville Middle School takes that a step further.

GMS aims to provide an environment that is conducive to learning in a way that allows the school’s students and teachers to be challenged and empowered, so that they may achieve their maximum potential.

Students at GMS have the opportunity to take a variety of courses. The school offers electives such as choir, piano, band, art, keyboarding, computer literacy, athletics, industrial technology, life management skills, theater arts, photography and Spanish.

With a dedicated staff and group of energetic students, GMS continues the steps toward a successful secondary education.

Students can earn academic recognition at GMS through the Academic Excellence Awards, which honors students for academic excellence in selected subjects, Principal Scholars, which cites students with a grade point average of 4.0 or above and National Junior Honor Society, based upon outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character.

It is the mission of Greenville Middle School to provide a safe, caring environment that addresses the unique developmental needs of its students, ensuring each student will develop confidence and academic competence through proper instruction and a rigorous curriculum.
