Crockett Elementary, situated north on State Highway 34, enrolls approximately 350 students yearly and covers the northeastern section of Greenville plus bus routes north and east. An Accelerated School, Crockett is designed to bring all students into the educational mainstream by the end of elementary school.
The philosophy of Crockett Elementary is based upon a child-centered approach to education and is designed to fit the developmental needs of the child. This is done by focusing on the strengths each child brings to school. At Crockett, the teaching staff believes education encompasses all areas of growth: emotional, social, physical, and aesthetic.
Teachers design curriculum to the needs and interests of each child. Self-discipline, as well as the growth of a good self-concept, is encouraged and built into the learning process.
