Greenville High School German students again represented the school at the Texas State German Contest, held at the University of Texas campus in Austin on Feb. 27.

These students had advanced from the North Texas Regional competition by placing in the top five of our region.  At state, they competed against the top five from each of the other regions.

GHS students won 10th place sweepstakes in the small school division.

Aaron Evans - 3rd in Memorized Poetry Level 3.

Josh Matlack - 4th in Poetry Reading Level 4.

Non-traditional Gingerbread house placed 4th -  builders were Erin McKinney, Sascha Tripp, Sara Wray, Keegan Blackshear, and Zak Tripp.

Level 1 Skit placed 5th with “Goldlocken”- Actors were Deanna Cardwell, Jordan Henderson, Tori Hosking, Sara Matlack, Lacey O’Brien and John Zoutendam.

Level 3 Duet Skit placed 5th with a scene from Die Physiker – Actors were Nathan Ruprecht and Erica Herbst.

Polka Band placed 9th – musicians were Keegan Blackshear, Zach Eye, Austin King, Josh Matlack, Sam McClellan, Erica Herbst, Halen Phillips and Daniel Rios.

German Folkdance 7th – dancers were Keegan Blackshear, Zach Eye, Erica Herbst, Victoria Hosking, Miranda Hunt, Susan Hunt, Austin King, Sara Kym, Elmer Manzano, Erin McKinney, Travis McMurray, Lacey O’Brien, Nathan Ruprecht, Sascha Tripp, Zak Tripp and Sara Wray.

Level 3 Skit placed 10th with “Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten” – Actors were Keegan Blackshear, Austin King, Arianna Lira, Sam McClellan, Edith Montero, Keane Patterson, Sascha Tripp and Sara Wray.
