Travis Elementary aims towards excellence, providing every student an opportunity to master academic skills, achieve his/her highest potential, to empower students to become lifelong learners, and to foster positive growth in social and emotional behaviors and attitudes.

The Texas Education Grant, Homeless Grant and Optional Extended Year Program are used to help with tutoring, standardized dress and student supplies. Also, Kavanaugh United Methodist Church sponsors an after-school boys and girls program, KavaKids, solely for the benefit of Travis Elementary. Additional opportunities include Robotics, and the 21st Century Grant, ACE, a new Afterschool Center to offer before and after school tutoring, family support services, and enrichment activities.
