Dr. Butcher Appointed to Lone Star Investment Pool Board

(Austin) — Kim Hunt Butcher of Greenville ISD has been appointed to the Lone Star Investment Pool board of directors for a three-year term.  Butcher has been on the Greenville ISD board since 2007, serving as vice-president for the past two years.

Butcher is a licensed psychologist with a local private practice in Greenville. She is active in lay leadership at Wesley United Methodist Church, Boy Scouts of America, and the Corporation for Cultural Diversity for Greenville. She also is the district’s board liaison for Hunt County Head Start.

Butcher earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University - College Station and her master and doctorate degrees in counseling psychology from the University of North Texas. She also received the designation of master trustee in Leadership TASB.

Since 1991, the Lone Star Investment Pool has strived to make fund management safer and easier for school districts, while closely adhering to the basic tenets of the Public Funds Investment Act: safety, liquidity, and yield. With more than $8 billion in average annual assets under management, Lone Star is the only local government investment pool to offer a dual portfolio manager platform, adding an additional layer of risk management in terms of counterparty diversification.
