Texas Public Schools Week

Students and educators across the State of Texas are utilizing a week in March to invite their communities and families into the schools to personally witness their preparations for the future.  Greenville ISD has designated three nights to invite parents, grandparents, siblings, and community members to share in multiple activities that highlight the many educational opportunities afforded in Greenville.

Greenville ISD will celebrate Texas Public Schools Week during the first week of March, the 2nd-5th.

Monday, March 6th

Greenville Middle School: Open House 5:30 p.m.

Greenville High School: PTA Meeting 5:45 p.m., Open House 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, March 7th

Lamar: Open House 5:30 p.m.

Bowie: Open House and Book Fair 5:30 p.m.

Travis: Open House 5:30 p.m.

Carver: Open House 5:30 p.m.

Crockett: Open House 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 9th

Houston Education Center: Open House 5:30pm

Sixth Grade Center: PTA Meeting 5:30 p.m., Open House and Book Fair 6:00 p.m.

"The community is always welcome in our schools, but this week is most exciting because our children have planned many special activities to demonstrate the learning taking place every day," said Don Jefferies, Superintendent of Greenville ISD.”

"Texas Public Schools Week is a celebration where everyone can participate," Jefferies said.  “This observance gives us a chance to shine a light on our students and their outstanding achievements. We invite everyone into our schools so they can see how we are preparing students to meet the challenges of the future."

Texas Public Schools Week was established in 1950 by the Masonic Lodges of Texas to recognize contributions made by the state's free system of education.  The Texas School Public Relations Association has promoted Texas Public Schools Week for over 20 years.
