GHS Band Ranks Fourth in Marching Competition

drum majors Last weekend, the Lion Pride Band competed in the Mesquite Marching Festival where they placed fourth in the competition. "This is the highest finish at the Mesquite Marching Festival in modern times for the Greenville High School Band," said Director of Bands, Joel Weisberg. The band competed against over 25 bands, including other 5A and 6A schools. In the visual scores category, judges ranked Greenville High School third overall. Additionally, the GHS band was awarded second place overall in class 5A.

The band will compete at the Region 3 UIL Marching Contest next Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. Pictured at left are drum majors Saul Rodriguez and Berkley Smith.
