Travis Students Celebrate MLK Day

Travis students on MLK Day Honoring the mission of MLK

Fifth grade students at Travis Elementary honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by reciting original poems, essays, and excerpts from his famous "I Have a Dream" speech last week during their Martin Luther King program.

The program was student driven with the theme "Colors Don't Matter", where students remembered Dr. King as a leader of change in the 1960's and an eloquent speaker who changed the hearts of thousands.

Displayed on the fence in front of the school are the words "Colors Don't Matter".  Designed and created entirely by fifth grade students at Travis.
