Job Fair for the High School Students

The Job Fair was a success! Greenville High School hosted a job fair for the juniors and seniors to meet local employers.

About 500 students had the opportunity to meet with employers in person, not an easy task in the current time of "apply online" if you want a job with our company. 

Julie Poole, the Regional Manager of Self-Reliant Services in Dallas came to the fair to be the Keynote Speaker. She shared with the students what employers want in new employees. She had students on the state with her going through a mock application and interview for a job. She then shared the story of "The Parable of the Oranges" by Randall Ridd. The students were captivated by her high-energy presentation. 

Then the students met with employers who shared jobs and suggestions on the application process for their company. The comment most repeated by the employers after the job fair was how impressed they were with the students themselves. They introduced themselves and shook hands with the employers, sharing their 30-second summary and presenting their resume.
