What's Cooking, Chef?

It's the students in the Culinary Arts Program.

Students are learning to use knives in the kitchen. The assignment was to get a carrot, a potato and an onion and prep the vegetables for cutting. After a thorough scrubbing and pealing, the vegetables were cut. The potato and the carrot were cut into four different sizes, while the onion was cut in equal size pieces. the students had a measurement chart that was designed and 3-D printed by the engineering department at the high school.

 

It was impressive to see so many students under the direction of Chef Kiowski handle those knives with only a couple of students requiring band-aids. Their final exam will been to do the same exercise in 20 minutes. 

 

Most of the vegetables cut by the classes were frozen and placed in containers to be used in recipes throughout the semester.
