Engineering students in Mrs. Emerson's classes have been given VEX kits filled with supplies they will be using in classes as they build working models of designs. 

They were given the challenge to build 6 simple machines, including wheel and axle, lever, pulley, wedge, inclined plane and screw. They will be measuring the mechanical advantage.

While the students were working in teams, I asked what they wanted for their future careers. Most said engineerin: mechanical, civil or electrical. One wanted to study business, while another expressed interest in becoming a pilot.
