Ms. Susanna Berrones KGJ STEM at Crockett Rockabots 4th/5th Grade Coach

This is Ms. Berrones 16th year in Greenville ISD. She has taught all subjects in various combinations in 3rd-5th grade. In 2019, she was offered her dream position teaching STEM Lab where she is teaching today after earning a PLTW Launch certification.

Ms. Berrones began her robotics coaching journey in 2012, the last year Greenville ISD used the Lego Mindstorms program.  She was given the exciting opportunity to beta test a new program, now known as VEX IQ, at VEX Worlds in Anaheim, California.  Following that year, she coached non-competition robotics at Crockett where her teams always placed in the top 3 teams at the end of year in-district tournaments.  She attended Worlds again in 2017 in Louisville, Kentucky as a chaperone for her daughter's Sixth Grade Center team.  She transitioned to competition robotics in 2019, where another team earned a Worlds bid by placing third at Regionals, but were unable to attend due to COVID.  Last year another team brought her to Worlds for a third time, this time in Dallas.  She is excited each year to bring new students into the program and uses their excitement to prepare them for all of the future opportunities in robotics that Greenville ISD has to offer.
