Board of Trustees
Meet Our School Board of Trustees
Greenville ISD is divided into seven single-member districts with one trustee representing each district. Voters residing within the boundaries of each single-member district elect trustees. Candidates are required to live in the district in order to run for that district's trustee position.
At Greenville ISD, we value open communication with our community. To promote more focused and productive discussions, the Board has amended Board Policy BED (Local), limiting public comments during meetings to agenda-related items. Previously, citizens could address the Board on a broader range of topics, but Texas law prohibits the Board from discussing or acting during a meeting on matters not listed on the agenda, making non-agenda comments less effective. This change ensures compliance with state law and keeps discussions focused on actionable issues.
To ensure concerns are still heard, the District is enhancing ways for citizens to communicate directly with the Board without waiting for public meetings or attending in person. You can submit comments via email at gisdboard@greenvilleisd.com, allowing for more timely responses and meaningful action without the limitations of meeting agendas.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
