Three immunizations (Tdap (Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis), 2nd Varicella (Chicken Pox) and Meningococcal) are required for upcoming 7th grade students. In the past, Hunt County Health Department has had an immunization clinic at the 6th grade center in May. New regulations for the Department of State Health prevented the Health Department from giving free or reduced immunizations to anyone other than those without insurance or with CHIPS. The Health Department will not provide immunization clinics at any school district this year as they have in past years due to this restriction. The Hunt County Health Department released notice that “Without proper documentation of required vaccinations or a valid medical or conscientious exemption, students will not be allowed to attend school.“ When immunizations are complete, proof will need to be submitted to the school.
