GISD Meets All Accountability Standards

Greenville ISD is enthusiastic to announce that through the hard work of students and staff, all campuses and our district as a whole have met all state standards for the 2012-2013 year under the Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability system. Through systematic changes and the utilization of carefully crafted practices, students, teachers and the administrative team realized the best results in years.

Superintendent Don Jefferies stated, “I am so proud of our students, teachers and staff. Everyone has worked very hard to achieve these results!  In recent years, Greenville ISD has implemented a number of systemic changes reflecting best practices in education that has helped to guide our improvement processes.  We have utilized a fully aligned curriculum at all levels; we have implemented extensive student data analysis by teachers and administrators through the use of collaborative professional learning communities; we have expanded science, technology, engineering, and math programs like robotics and solar cars; we have used Product Oriented Education and Destination Imagination to engage and inspire our students in academic content areas; finally, we have expanded our teacher and student training and utilization of technology to improve instruction.  Through these cooperative and engaging learning opportunities, Greenville ISD has set the stage for accountability success.”

Mr. Jefferies continued saying, “The ability of our students and support of their parents coupled with highly qualified teachers and top-notch administrators is apparent in the test data. I am so proud to be associated with Greenville ISD.”
