Local Community Members Rally to Support Softball and Baseball

Work has begun on Greenville ISD softball and baseball fields due to the generosity and benevolence of local community members. Dr. Matt Koger and the Greenville ISD Athletic Booster Club led the charge and successfully fundraised over $15,000 to contribute to modifications and improvements to the current fields.

The scope of work will include new press boxes on the baseball and softball fields. On the GHS softball field, new chain link fences, new backstop padding, and a new locker room will be installed. At the GHS baseball field, the existing chain link fence will be removed and replaced with nylon netting from dugout to dugout and the backstop will be increased by eight feet. Additionally, a three foot block wall will be installed from dugout to dugout.

The district would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their generosity: Title Sponsor Farmers Electric Cooperative and Title Sponsor Primary Care Associates (PCA) of Greenville, Dr. Matt Koger, Deavon McNair, PCA rehab, Dr. David Liao, North Texas Dental, Hunt Regional Medical Center, Friends of Bob Deuell, Allergy ENT Clinic, Raffa Clinic, Kent's Metal Craft, Brookshire’s, GEUS, Dr. Gina Rushing, D. Keene Enterprises, Collision Central, Dr. Kelly Warren, Crumpton TV and Cellular, and Home Depot.

Don Jefferies, Greenville ISD Superintendent, stated of the fundraising efforts, “I am continually reminded of the commitment and goodwill of parents and citizens to Greenville ISD. Improvements to the softball and baseball fields will enhance our student’s playing experience and provide an enhanced experience for visiting teams and fans. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Koger and all of the donors to this project. I’d also like to thank our highly skilled and dedicated maintenance staff who will be performing a significant amount of the work.”
