Julie Hollister, a Suzuki Strings freshman student, earned a 1 rating at the UIL Solo and Ensemble competition held in Longview this past weekend. Julie earned the superior rating through a flawless performance of a Grade 2 piece.

Davis Holden, GISD Suzuki Instructor, stated, “I’m excited that after starting with 3-4 year olds 12 years ago, the Suzuki program has come to the point where we are able to send our first student to UIL competition. We’re proud of Julie and her own accomplishments but also for representing the district and the Suzuki program so well by receiving a Superior (1) rating.”
