Veteran's Day Program to be held on Nov. 11

Every November 11, we, as a nation, honor those who have served our country. To show appreciation to our veterans, GISD will hold the fifth annual Veteran’s Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, at 10 a.m. in the Greenville High School gymnasium. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program will include a myriad of patriotic songs, poetic readings, the posting and retiring of the colors by the Greenville High School NJROTC, as well as a speech from keynote speaker, Representative Dan Flynn and a special presentation from United States Congressman John Ratcliffe.

The ceremony will include performances by the GISD elementary honors choir, Greenville Sixth Grade Center choir, Greenville Middle School choir and Greenville High School choir, under the direction of Yvette Vasquez and Donnette Brown.

Greenville ISD Bands will also perform during the ceremony and are under the direction of Joel Weisberg, Richard Burt, Kent Tidwell, and Amy Dykes. The Greenville ISD Orchestra is under the direction of Muriel Kerr and Margaux Pisula.

There will be a BBQ lunch for all veterans following the program, prepared by the Greenville High School Culinary Arts students led by Chef Lucas Kiowski.
