GHS VEX Robotics Team, Iron Cowboys Win “Think Award” at Latest Comp.

Greenville High School VEX Robotics team 4148C, the Iron Cowboys, Competed this past weekend at the North Texas Nothing But Net VEX Middle/High School competition in Richardson.

The Iron Cowboys, whose members are Noah Farkosh, Nathan Fort, Bobby Osorno, Nick Haslett, and Nick Torres, used a unique dual flywheel/high trajectory shooter to earn the number eight seed along with the “Think Award”. The “Think Award” is given to the team that demonstrates the best autonomous programming and sensor use during the competition.

The team’s accomplishments at this competition have qualified them for the North Texas Regional Competition; where they will compete for a spot in the state VEX robotics competition. “The judges enjoyed the robot’s high angle approach and ability to hit shots from anywhere on the 12’x12’ field” said Iron Cowboys coach, Colin Nobles. “Team 4148C is already hard at work improving their shooting speed for the next competition,” he said.
