GHS NJROTC Bring Home 3rd From Weekend Tourney

The Navy JROTC unit from Greenville High School, The Sea Lions, competed in the Coastal Bend Regional Field Meet in Corpus Christi this past Saturday, Jan. 30. The meet included teams from sixteen schools from throughout the state of Texas, who competed in armed drill, unarmed drill, color guard, physical fitness and academics where the GHS Sea Lions finished in third place.

The GHS Sea Lions placed third behind Southwest High School and Flour Bluff High School, both of whom are perennial state and national competitors and previous national champions. With this result, the GHS NJROTC unit has qualified for the state meet at Texas A&M University on February 26th and 27th. This is the second time in this unit’s history that they have qualified for the State field meet.
