GISD Senior Named Dale Hansen Scholar Athlete

Greenville High School senior Zachary Hamilton can soon add Dale Hansen’s Buick/GMC Scholar Athlete of the Week to his already impressive and eventful resume. Active in almost every extracurricular activity offered on the campus, Zachary currently serves on the Student Council, Interact Club, Key Club, Independent Study Mentorship, and National Honor Society. Off campus and on the courts, Zachary has played on the varsity tennis team for four years, rising as one of the top boys singles players the past two.

“Zachary is a natural leader on the court and off,” says head tennis coach Mary Mulkey. “Zachary’s willingness to be a team player has also made him an awesome doubles partner as he and his mixed doubles partner are currently at the top of our district. Additionally, his leadership skills and display of integrity have earned him the honor of being team co-captain for his senior year.”

In the classroom, Zachary is ranked #17 out of 241 students in the Class of 2016 and has maintained top of the class status his entire high school career. In addition to school activities, Zachary is very active in his church youth group and recently participated in a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

With the respect of his peers and teachers, it is easy to understand why Mr. Hansen will honor Zachary on his show on Sunday, February 21st.
