GHS, GMS and SGC VEX Robotics to Compete in National Robotics Championship

This week, Greenville ISD will send seven teams to compete in the CREATE US Open Robotics Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa; two from Greenville High School and five from Greenville Middle School. These teams will compete in a multi-day tournament that will bring in over three hundred and fifty robotics teams from all over the world to compete in three divisions.

The CREATE US Open VEX Tournament will be comprised of 200 high school teams and 100 middle school teams divided into divisions by classification. Two VEX teams from Greenville High School, the Iron Cowboys  4148A and 4148B, will be competing in the High School Division. 

Three VEX teams from Greenville Middle School, the Gigabots 2148A, 2148D, 2148E, will be competing in the Middle School Division. Last year, these three teams combined to win the Middle School Division becoming US National Champions and are looking to defend their title this year.

Greenville Middle School’s VEX IQ team, the Protobots 5148A, and the Sixth Grade Center VEX IQ Cyborgs, 3148C, will compete in the inaugural CREATE US Open VEX IQ Tournament. They will be competing with forty teams from around the country for the U.S. Open VEX IQ title.
