On April 9, Stoney Johnson, Lead School Bus Technician for Greenville ISD, competed in the Texas Best Competition for Inspectors in Houston, Tex. This competition is designed to determine the “best” school bus technicians in the state through a combination of rigorous technician skills tests. Although this was his first time competing, Johnson took home fourth place overall.

“I am very proud of Stoney for participating and even prouder that he placed so high on his first attempt,” said Director of Transportation at GISD, Laura Carter.

Upon receiving his fourth place award, Johnson was also presented with his Texas Association of School Bus Technicians Master Certification. Requirements for this certification are stringent and can be found at www.tasbt.org.
