The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Risk Management Team announced that Greenville ISD has been awarded a loss prevention grant in the amount of $6,000 for the 8^th consecutive year. These grants help implement loss prevention and safety initiatives that reduce the potential for property losses and on-the-job injuries, improve emergency management operations, and raise awareness of safety issues.

The grant awarded to Greenville ISD this year will be specifically used to purchase safety equipment for the GISD Transportation Department. Superintendent Don Jefferies stated, “I’m very proud of Laura Carter, Greenville ISD Director of Transportation, and her staff for their dedication to securing grants that improve safety operations. Receiving these types of grants preserve monetary resources and is one reason Greenville ISD is continually able to develop a balanced budget annually.”
