GMS and SGC VEX IQ Robotics Earn Top Ranks at Greenville Crossover Tourney

On Saturday, December 3rd, Greenville Middle School and Greenville Sixth Grade center entered twenty-four robots in the Greenville VEX IQ “Crossover” Tournament held at the new Career and Technology Center at Greenville High School. All alliances performed well with fourteen of the twenty robots earning their way to the playoffs.

The SGC Cyborgs 3148N, made up of Nathan Cadenhead, Marley Knight, and Alan Rios, earned the Create Award, given to the team with a creative engineering solution. They also finished the tournament in fourth place.

Cyborgs team 3148B, whose members are James Robles, Alexander Brown, and Ezequiel Franco, and team 3148R, comprised of Madi Coyle, Evan Bennett, and Stephen Baird, finished the tournament in fifth place.

The GMS Protobots team 5148B, whose members are Joseph Grimes, Weston Santana, and Aiden Schafft, were Tournament Finalists and walked away with the second place title.

GMS team 5148E, comprised of Daniel Franco Hernandez, Gerardo Olivas, and Artanth Ramirez, finished the tournament in third place.

The Protobots and Cyborgs will both next enter the Terrell ISD VEX IQ Tournament on January 7th.
