Announcing our December Hero of Hope

Hero of Hope Peggy Williams Crockett Elementary Instructional Aide Peggy Williams had a surprise visit Wednesday afternoon when her principal and a few other friends dropped by to deliver a bouquet of flowers and some good news.

Mrs. Williams is known for her servant's heart and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever she is needed.

Her coworkers describe her as someone who's always helping others no matter what the task is. They say that she goes above and beyond for everyone on campus and even mends students' clothing for them.

A Hero of Hope is someone who touches the lives of students and encourages them to be the best they can be.

Every month (September– May), one districtwide Hero of Hope will be selected and honored at the School Board meeting.

Mrs. Williams will be honored at the next school board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19. She will also receive $100, thanks to Lone Star Credit Union, the official underwriter of Greenville ISD's Hero of Hope program. Her beautiful flowers were donated by Adkisson's Florist.

"One of the greatest opportunities we have as educators is to change the life of a child," Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins said. "Since that is the most important focus of our work, this is one of the highest honors we can give to an employee."

Whether you are a student, parent, employee or community member, please take the time to nominate your Hero of Hope by filling out a form located in every Greenville ISD campus and building.
