The GISD School Board unanimously approved a revision to the district's 2018-19 calendar at the Feb. 27 meeting. 

The only revision to the calendar is to move spring break one week later (March 18-22) in order to coincide with colleges and universities throughout Texas. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently changed the requirements for the start of the semester, requiring colleges to start a week later, which pushes spring break a week later. 

Because GISD partners with junior colleges for students who receive dual credit and universities for student teachers, we followed suit so that our students can receive credit for the dual credit classes and our student teachers may complete their required hours for graduation.
