Coach Sellers says this is the hardest working group of powerlifters he has ever had at Greenville HS, and their hard work is paying off at the meets. They are extremely dedicated to powerlifting, which is easy to see when they leave the HS at 5 a.m. for meets. They also practice before school or after school four days a week.

 The powerlifting team has competed in three meets:

• Sulphur Springs 1/13 – Placed first
• Emory 1/27 – Place first
• Paris 2/17 – hoping to place first

The powerlifting team currently has:

• Three students ranked first in the region in their weight class
• Three students ranked second in the region in their weight class
• Several ranked in the top five in the region
• One student ranked in the top three in state
• Two students ranked in the top 10 in state

The powerlifting team has a chance to win their second regional meet in the past three years.
