L3 engineer shares career tips with students

Greenville High School geometry students recently got a glimpse into how their math skills could lead to a lucrative engineering career. L3 engineer Sophia Ivory told students some of the top skills that will pay off for them in the business world are:

  • Writing and communication
  • Organization
  • Skillful presentation of data and other information
  • Being able to work as a member of a team

"Listen to your teachers and value the skills they are sharing with you," Ivory said. "You will benefit from what you are learning today in school for the rest of your life. And learn to work with one another. No one can do it all alone."

Ivory shared some of the awards she and her team members had earned over the years and told students the stories behind how they earned those distinctions and the financial bonuses that came along with them.
