Greenville ISD VEX/VEX IQ Roboitics Invade Iowa

 

Greenville, TX. - Starting Monday, April 2, 2018, and continuing through Saturday, April 07, 2018, four robotics teams from Greenville Middle School and Greenville High School will compete for the CREATE U. S. Open Robotics Championship in Council Bluffs, IA.

These teams have qualified for the National Championship by winning one or more of the following awards at a local North Texas VEX/VEX IQ Tournament held from October 2017 through February 2018. These awards are as follows:

 

  1. Tournament Champion – This award is given to each team on the winning alliance.
  2. Robot Skills Champion – This award is given to the top combined Programming & Driving Skills Challenge Team.
  3. Excellence Award – This award is given to the top all around team/program.

 

Aiden Schafft of Greenville Middle School VEX IQ Team 5148C says “I never thought this much success was possible. It’s just crazy!” While the Greenville High School VEX Team 4148A, whose members are Luis Ugalde, Daniel Ugalde, Charlie Murfin, Austin Burns and Trenton Burn, together reflected on robotics, “I enjoy robotics because I know that there will be a new challenge every day for my team and I to solve. There is never a dull moment.”

GMS VEX IQ Team 5148C – Jared Rice and Aiden Schafft

 

GMS VEX IQ Team 51248A – Nasario Munoz, Trevor Yosten, Brian Bennett and Stephen Baird

 

GMS VEX Team 2148A – Pablo Oropeza, David Ortega, Isiah Lowe and Emiliano Portello

 

Team 4148A and Team 5148C will next compete in The VEX World Championship in Louisville, KY., April 25, 2018 through May 01, 2018.
