GHS band & choir students set new record @ state!

Greenville High School band and choir students distinguished themselves at the state level this weekend during the UIL State competition.

"This is the most students we've ever had qualify for state and the best ratings we've received. And keep in mind this  is the hardest competition for student musicians in Texas," GHS Director of Bands Joel Weisberg said. "The adjudicators are either college professors or professional musicians who play the instruments themselves. As you progress through the levels of competition, it becomes more and more difficult to achieve the top ratings."

Congratulations to the student groups and individuals below, who earned the following ratings, with I being the top rating:

  • Trombone Quartet I
  • WW Trio I
  • Saxophone Quartet I
  • Flute Quartet I
  • Andrew Evans I
  • Alexis Angel I

  • Euphonium Trio II
