Greenville ISD's December Hero of Hope is Vic Lawson, a maintenance professional at GHS, who has been a role model, mentor and leader since his days as a student at Greenville High School.

"It's very fitting that he's the hero of hope recipient and gets to wear this cape because he truly is superhuman," said Assistant Superintendent of Operations Wes Underwood. "He's always ready to go above and beyond and do whatever is necessary for the district and for the kids of Greenville ISD, especially at the high school. He's just tremendous and does a fantastic job."

"One of the greatest opportunities we have as educators is to change the life of a child," Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins said. "Since that is the most important focus of our work, this is one of the highest honors we can give to an employee."

Every month (September– May), one districtwide Hero of Hope is selected and honored at the School Board meeting. Whether you are a student, parent, employee or community member, please take the time to nominate your Hero of Hope by filling out a form located in every Greenville ISD campus and building.
