On April 2 & 3 the GMS Lion Pride Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble traveled to Forney HS for the UIL Region 3 Concert and Sight Reading Contest.

The Symphonic Band competed in the Non-varsity category and earned a 2nd division Excellent rating for their concert performance and a 1st division Superior rating for their sight reading performance! Congratulations Symphonic Band!!

The Wind Ensemble competed in the Varsity category and earned a 1st division Superior rating in both the concert and sight reading portions of the contest. Because of this the Wind Ensemble was awarded the UIL Sweepstakes trophy!!

This Sweepstakes award is the first one for the Varsity Band at Greenville Middle School in 19 years!!
