The colors were flying Friday afternoon in the Crockett-STEM courtyard where students were celebrating "Color Me Kind."

It was the conclusion of a month-long fundraiser for CASA Hunt County.

"Our students and families were given the opportunity to choose from three charities, and they all voted and picked CASA," said Crockett/STEM PTA President Lyndsey Sutton. "The whole month of March, they had a challenge to see who could raise the most money. They raised over $1,500, and the winning grades (kindergarten and fifth grade) got to color our assistant principal and teachers."

Asked how it feels to be a human rainbow, Assistant Principal Richard Burt wiped the chalk from his lips and cheered, "Fantastic!"

"I'm excited about celebrating the kids' great success and coming together and being one. I'm also so proud of them for being kind to each other."

Thanks to ReMax Realtors who adopted each grade level and helped raise funds for CASA!
