Greenville High School FFA students honored our area first responders today with an annual cookout at the high school. Students and FFA sponsors fired up the grill for a lunch of burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixins and invited Hunt County first responders and the staff at Greenville High School.
Todd Warren of the Greenville Fire Department said he looks forward to this special event each year. “It’s nice to be appreciated by your community,” he said. “It means a lot to us that the students give back to first responders.”
Kristi Thompson, GHS Ag Teacher and FFA Sponsor, shared this event is something they like to do each year after their busy showing season. “We just want to say thank you to the men and women who serve daily to keep us all safe,” she said.
It was a beautiful afternoon -- perfect grilling weather!
