2014 GHS graduate Layton Prado surprised his fifth-grade twin sisters Ryleigh and Kyleigh Manjane during lunch at Carver Elementary Friday.

Prado enlisted in the Navy after graduating, and he returned to Greenville to see his wife Callie and the rest of his family last night.

He snuck up on his sisters during lunch, and their surprised expressions said it all as other students broke out into spontaneous applause.

Prado said returning to Carver was especially poignant for him since he went there as an elementary student.

“There’s nothing like coming back home,” he said. “I’ve been on deployments to Dubai, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea and France. Of those, France is my favorite. But I always love coming home.”

Prado serves on the USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier, and he is stationed at the Naval Station in Norfolk, Va. He has a two-week leave.

Welcome home, Layton! We're proud of you!
