These teachers are the best of the best, and we are so proud of them and their work with our students. They will represent their campuses for the 2019-20 school year.
From among these amazing campus teachers of the year, the GISD Teacher of the Year selection committee read essays in which the teachers of the year described their teaching philosophy. These teachers understand that building relationships with students is essential to establishing the foundation upon which teaching and learning rests.
Gina Burk, from the KGJ STEM Academy, was named GISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Marie Brock, from Greenville Middle School, was named GISD’s Secondary Teacher of the Year. They will go on to represent GISD at the Region 10 level.
And as an added surprise, representatives from Family First Home Health presented Burk and Brock with $500 gifts to honor their commitment to excellence. Thank you, Family First!
