GISD wins 6 National Awards for Excellence in Communications
Greenville ISD won six awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for excellence in school communications.
“There are great stories happening each and every day in our classrooms, and we are so proud of the remarkable students and teachers who inspire our work,” Chief Communications Officer Helen Williams said. “It’s exciting to be able to start the new school year with this announcement, and it reflects GISD’s growing reputation as a district committed to excellence.”
The awards were announced during the 2019 NSPRA Annual Conference. Professional judges evaluated 1,148 submissions nationwide. GISD earned the following awards:
- Award of Excellence for Marketing Publication: I Am GISD Brochure - graphic design by WebRevelation
- Award of Merit for Excellence in Writing: From 0-30 to Super Bowl: John Franklin-Myers’ Story of Extreme Grit
- Award of Honorable Mention for Branding: I Am GISD marketing campaign
- Award of Honorable Mention for Video: The Future Begins Here – produced by Derek Price, Green Shoot Agency

NSPRA is a nonprofit, professional organization dedicated to promoting education through effective communications. Founded in 1935, the organization has been providing school communications training and services to school leaders throughout the United States and Canada.
