Sixth-grade students take 2nd place in robotics tournament

GISD hosted its first robotics competition of the year this past Saturday at the Greenville Highs School Robotics Arena.

 

Thirty-six teams from the DFW area came to compete, including six teams from Greenville’s Sixth Grade Center and five teams from STEM Academy @ Crockett.

 

Team 3148F GEARS from Sixth Grade Center placed second in the competition and currently holds the third highest score in robot skills in the state!

 

“I was extremely proud of them!” shared Jason Kramer, Sixth Grade Center Robotics coach. “All of our teams performed well overall, especially in the skills challenge.”  “Looking ahead I believe we have a lot of potential to improve as we continue through the season.
