We have the BEST teachers in Greenville ISD! And since May 4-8 is Teacher Appreciation Week, what better time to thank a teacher than right now?

This year, Raise Your Hand Texas & The Charles Butt Foundation have joined forces to show teachers their thanks and support by launching the #TeachersCan campaign.

The message of support for teachers is powerful:

"Teachers have always answered the call. Accepted the challenge. Because they can. Now, more than ever, they need our thanks and support."

We couldn't agree more! Below are ideas for ways we can celebrate our teachers!

• Take a moment this week to nominate a teacher to be honored during the #TeachersCan campaign by filling out the online nomination form that you'll find HERE. There will be daily drawings May 4-8 during Teacher Appreciation Week along with special online events just for teachers!  Teachers, nominate a fellow teacher who deserves to be recognized.  Parents and others, nominate a teacher who is going above and beyond for your kids and community. 

• Teachers, share your story!  Using the hashtag  #TeachersCan, upload and share a video to Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram about why you teach, what you wish others knew about teacher and how teachers can make a big difference for students.

• Everyone else, thank a teacher! Is there a teacher from your past or present who you want to honor for how they changed your life, or someone else’s?  Share a video or post on social media using the hashtag #TeachersCan and #ThankATeacher.
