We are pleased to announce that Brittany Anderson has been selected as the Principal of Travis Elementary / Sixth Grade Center for the next school year.

Mrs. Anderson comes to Greenville ISD from Shreveport, La., where she served as an award-winning principal, assistant principal, and master math teacher. She was named Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year during her tenure in Shreveport.

“Principal Anderson is a dynamic leader with extensive instructional knowledge and a proven track record of creating a learning environment that leads to academic success for her students,” GISD Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins said. “She understands the responsibility and potential that every educator holds, and she is a tremendous advocate for her campus staff.”

Anderson is known for building relationships.

“The highlight of my day is always the time I spend in the classroom,” she said. “I love leading a campus, and I love numbers and analytical work. I also enjoy watching the interaction and learning that occurs in the classroom between teachers and students. It never ceases to amaze me.”

Anderson earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Texas A&M-Commerce and her master’s degree in education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

She has five children ranging in age from 5 to 19. She and her family enjoy camping, going to the lake and spending time with family in Paris.

“We’re all excited to be returning to our Texas roots and seeing our family more,” Anderson said.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Anderson for being selected as Travis/Sixth Grade Center Principal.
