GISD Spotlight: Anna Griffiths

Anna Griffiths, Executive Director of Special Education for Greenville ISD, was awarded the title of Alumni Ambassador for Texas A&M-Commerce at a luncheon on March 8th in the Sam Rayburn Student Center.

The title of Alumni Ambassador is the highest award an academic department can bestow upon a graduate and recognizes significant career achievements.

Anna graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Receiving her Master of Education in Educational Administration with Professional Certification in 2005, she then completed the Region 10 Service Center Alternative Certification Program for Educational Diagnosticians in 2006.

A GISD employee for fifteen years, Anna began her teaching career as a resource teacher at Crockett Elementary and then Bowie Elementary. She then served the district as an educational diagnostician and a special education coordinator before advancing into her current position.

Anna is married to Chuck Griffiths and has two children, Chelsie Stout and Cory Griffiths and a grandson, Cash Stout.

Anna and her family have lived in Greenville for almost 21 years. During this time they have been active members of Redeemer Lutheran Church where Anna has served as a youth leader, Sunday School Teacher, Council Member, Financial Secretary and Mutual Ministry Committee member.
