"Dr. Liggins is a dynamic leader with an outstanding reputation and a strong track record, so this is no surprise," said Trena Stafford, Greenville ISD Board President. "Dr. Liggins has committed more than four years of service to Greenville ISD, and he has made a profound impact here. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I thank him for his excellent work and dedication."

Liggins has been the superintendent in Greenville ISD since April 2017. During that time, he has introduced a number of innovative academic initiatives across the district and increased student achievement. Working with the Board, he has successfully restored and maintained sound fiscal stewardship to the district and has been recognized locally, statewide, and nationally for his remarkable leadership.

Dr. Liggins has also successfully led GISD through what is arguably the most challenging school year in education due to an international health pandemic. He is known for his commitment to student success, his community involvement and leadership, and for his ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff and families.

With nearly 41,000 students, Fayette County is the second-largest school district in Kentucky.
