Shannon Fulp has been promoted to Chief Information Officer for Greenville ISD.

In this role, he will be responsible for the district’s student information system, testing and accountability, library and media services and technology services.

Mr. Fulp started his career with Greenville ISD as a Carver Cool Cat teaching 5th grade science. He has also served GISD as a computer technician and instructional technologist and most recently as the district’s Chief Technology Officer.

“I often think about the wonderful teachers who took me in at Carver many year ago,” Fulp said. “I always try my best to use what they taught me about education and compassion to help shape the decisions I make for Greenville ISD.”

Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins could not be more excited to have him lead as the district’s new Chief Information Officer.

“From the moment I met Mr. Fulp, he has shown his commitment to bettering our organization and improving our systems and structures. He is a detailed leader with a strong ethical core.”

Shannon started his career in education as a bus driver and classroom aide, and while at Carver was awarded the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal from the Sons of the American Revolution for his anti-bullying campaign in partnership with the WWE. While serving in the military, he earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Gardner-Webb University and a master's degree in Global eLearning from Texas A&M University Commerce.

He is married to Jacklynn Fulp, and they have two children.

"As a family we feel we have been called to work and live in Greenville and we remind one another of that often. I am fortunate to have another opportunity to serve Greenville ISD and the Greenville community,” Fulp said.
