GHSolar Team Competes this Week

The Iron Lion, a three wheeled vehicle that runs on electrical power completely supplied by solar energy, will be competing at the Texas Motor Speedway from July 16th - July 19th.

The Solar Car Challenge was established in 1993 to help motivate students in science and engineering, and to increase alternative energy awareness. The Challenge teaches high school students around the world how to build roadworthy solar cars.
The team, led by Captain Carlos Perez, includes Jesus Gomez, Angel Gomez, Aaron Lively, Jaeden Richards, Jose Alba, Anthony Garcia, Louis Guerrero, John Olivarez, Emit Osorio, Juan Rivera, Ruben Ugalde, Robert Worsham, Justin Andrews, Derek Brown, Alex Key, Cody McCarty, Jose Morales, Erik Ocampo, Javier Ruelas, Rafael Torres, Rube Vargas, Geovanni Velazquez, Jacob White and Jose Castenada.
