GHS VEX celebrates 2022 season!

Now that the 2022 season has officially ended, the VEX teams want to let out a cheer for an outstanding year!
 
"I have been involved with VEX programs for over 15 years, and I am proud to say that this has been my best year and best group of students in that time," Robotics Advisor Coach Corey Bankston said. "These teams were comprised of freshmen and sophomores I have worked with since they were in seventh and eighth grade. I am very proud of them for their incredible efforts. We are already building for next seasons game and ready to grow the VEX program and represent Greenville High School with gracious professionalism with a touch of fun. Thank you all for your continued support of our programs and for providing the resources for success."

  • 5A UIL tournament champions 
  • 5A UIL Excellence Award for best overall team 
  • Amaze Award at Region 2 state competition
  • 2 additional Excellence Awards at regional events
  • Sportsmanship award
  • 1 Design Award 
  • 4148A was in the Design division at the World Championships and finished sixth out of 90 teams and made it to the round of 16 before losing their last match by 2 points. 
Bankston described the students' engineering design notebook as which is "the best notebook I have ever had in any of my programs."

  • 5A UIL tournament champions (with 4148A)
  • 5A UIL Robot Skills champions
  • 5 tournament championships (regional events) 
  • 1 Excellence Award
  • 1 tournament finalist
  • 1 Robot skills 2nd place 
  • 4148E was in the Research division, and the team finished first overall after qualification rounds out of 90 teams. They lost in the division semi-finals by two points, like their sister team 4148A.
