Lucretia Newton has been named Student Services Administrator for Greenville ISD.

Ms. Newton is a graduate of The University of Tulsa where she received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Math and Science. After receiving her degree, she taught sixth grade math with Tulsa Public Schools for five years. During that time, she received her master’s degree in special education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.

Ms. Newton moved to Texas in 2002 and has worked as a teacher, librarian, assistant principal, curriculum/assessment coordinator and principal in a couple of DFW area districts.

Ms. Newton has been with Greenville ISD for five years, serving first as Director of Professional Learning and Development and, most recently as the principal of Lamar Elementary School for the past four years. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Mavericks.
