Greenville Early College High School senior Angel Griggs' artwork was chosen for the GISD employee birthday card. As soon as Angel heard about the contest, she picked up her brush and paints and got to work.

"I knew it had to be the Greenville Lion with a birthday cake. That's what immediately popped into my mind," she said. "I like adding little details, like the paw print on the cake."

Angel, who is pictured with 2021-22 Early College High School Chancellor D'Andre Carter, will be graduating with her associate's degree in engineering in 2023. She dreams of becoming a software engineer, which will allow her to use both her artistic and engineering skills.

Every Greenville ISD employee receives a birthday card, which is personally delivered by Superintendent Sharon Boothe. Our employees tell us it's one of the things that makes them feel most appreciated!
